You would have thought, given the existential threat to them, that Ukraine would have mobilized their people in an outreach to Americans to ensure that the convicted felon who has already stated he would sell them out would not be elected.
I think this conflict will stop at Ukraine because I think the EU/NATO (even sans US) is more than a match for the now depleted Russian forces... at least, for now. Russia will spend another decade slicing away current EU/NATO allies via manipulated elections, perhaps convincing Turkey to betray them outright, before moving on more territory, possibly just a path to Kaliningrad.
Or perhaps they will use nuclear blackmail. More than anything, I think the current Russia leadership just want to see the US itself fall as revenge for the collapse of the USSR and they're willing to burn almost anything down to make it happen.
