When the Big Mac came to CA in '68 or '69, it was over $1 but I don't remember how much.
The days of the 15¢ burger were long gone by the time Big Mac came to town.
Here in the most one of the most expensive states to live and eat in, CA, in one of the most expensive areas of CA, SF Bay Area, a Big Mac is ~$5.99, same as a dinky Filet-O-Fish.
But- It's Free Fries Friday, get a free Medium Fries with a $1 purchase.
Growing up in Florida in the early seventies, I could get a meal at McDonalds for $1 - a 50¢ Big Mac, small fries for 20¢ and a strawberry shake for 30¢. If mom was in a generous mood, I'd get another 25¢ for a FRIED Cherry Pie.
But then I remember 25¢ Apple Fritters or Bavarian Cremes at Mr. Donut, the Apple Dumpling at Wendy's, and Arby's Roast beef that had more meat than bun.
