SpaceX is private, but Tesla isn't. I don't think stockholders are going to be able to tolerate Musk destroying their investments. He's jumped the shark. There's no coming back from this for him unless he breaks down and understands.

Does he have enough shares to control everything?
He holds about 13% of the stock for Tesla. In some companies that can be a controlling share, don't know about that for Tesla. The stock remuneration deal that was shot down in court would have given him about 25% of the stock. With some of his recent actions reflecting badly and hurting Tesla sales, some of his supporters within the stockholders may be reconsidering that support.
