Paramount to pay Trump $16 million to settle ’60 Minutes’ lawsuit

Conservative billionaire Larry Ellison owns Paramount which owns CBS.  As far as I’m concerned, this is just Ellison stuffing money in Trump’s pocket.

Paramount is owned by National Amusements aka Shari Redstone, Sumners unwelcome daughter.
She wants to off the company she has been responsible for crushing with stoopit ideas like getting into streaming with the attitude "if they can do it, so can we".
Idiot.  I won't cry for her $16M, which won't come out her pocket, but for what she has done for the First amendment.
Way back when, friends of mine at CBS/Para bought for $2 and made bloody fortunes until 2017 ish.
Many got out when she became queen.

Going forward, if the deal goes thru, Shari will be selling to Ellisons' son, David, who is Skydance Media (dumb name) aka "tiny" Tom Cruise House of Worship.
David leans considerably left and donated $1M to JB campaign.

Whether pops will stay the fvk out of Davids way, on something he knows little about, remains to be seen.
David has been quite successful in the film biz, depending on which you read and believe.
Larry is 80 and has his hands full.

The only promising thing from my point of view, is while this mess has been going on for 2 years, Paramount Global/CBS has done serious tech updates at W57th St, their major NY property.  

I'm hopeful that David is not a fvkg maroon, but .....

OBTW, NFLX closed up today to nearly $1300, up from $680 a year ago.
