Question for parents: does yelling at your little kid to 'stop whining' actually work

I thought long and hard about getting child protection services involved, but that means openly declaring war - that's how she will see it. Also - how many kids have you known that grew up in foster homes? Would you really want to be the one responsible for stripping kids from their mother?

I can't go there. I've known people who survived horrible parents and they seemed better off than kids from foster homes that I've known.
