Thanks everyone for the info. I will, again, push the Dell purchase. If she still refuses then I will give her the list of components she should expect from a $1000 custom-built WinTel box.

She's a good friend of our family but, HELL NO, I ain't gonna devote to her sole tech support; you Macresource people will Big Grin
Actually, she's pretty good about calling up the vendors for tech support.
