Star Trek XI, greenlighted according to KTLA morning news.
#6
If anyone asks me (and they never do), they need to do a Toho with Trek (Toho, which owns Godzilla, has put the big guy to pasture for the next 8 to 10 years, at which time they'll revive the series; they've done it more-or-less twice before).

If they have to start a new film series, I'd personally like to see an "After Enterprise/Before TOS" series, set during the time of the Romulan War. New characters -- maybe the Robert April/Christopher Pike days on the ENTERPRISE (1701). I still think Ray Liotta looks a lot like Jeffrey Hunter.

And FWIW, the final ep of ENTERPRISE (I basically stopped watching the series sometime during S2) should have ended with Archer, as an old man, christening the NCC-1701 USS ENTERPRISE. You could have had him at the launch, shaking hands with Robert April (the "shakedown cruise" captain) and, as the camera pulls back out of the dock window and across the saucer of the 1701, you hear the admiral saying, "Admiral Archer, I'd like to introduce you to the ship's new science officer, Mr. Spock..."

A good possibility for a series that got dropped was the "Captain Sulu Adventures", set in the timeframe almost immediately after UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY. Such a good episode of VOYAGER that was. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0671003...6?v=glance&n=283155

I know, I'm a big nerd. FWIW, here's the Star Trek Wiki: http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Main_Page
