As a life long Michigander, I have to agree with ArtP. It's best to be prepared for anything.
Definitley cooler on the big lakes, with Superior being the coldest of them all. (don't go swimming unless you like water just above freezing!)
BGnR, MI might have 1-2 weeks of hot and humid weather during the summer. Even less humidity while sailing on the Great Lakes.
