Within the last three or four days, somebody posted a link that showed exactly what you want to know.
You could pick two different screen sizes and compare different image sizes on each screen.
My current main TV is a older Sony 32" XBR. To watch a 16:9 DVD on a TV that would give me the same height image as on my 32" 4:3, I'd have to get a 42" 16:9 TV (or bigger).
I wish I had some keywords to help you find that link. I neglected to bookmark it.
