The ipod became ubiquitous due to lower priced models that opened the floodgates.
I have a hard time seeing an iPhone Mini being offered at half the price in the near future.
But I agree. Apple DID manage to revolutionize the phone in an already mature market - that's a pretty impressive feat right there.
But to be ubiquitous, we'll need to see the mini, nano and shuffle equivalent in an iphone. I don't see this happening, but Jobs ALWAYS has something up his sleeve.
