I changed the search to "any" from "all" as suggested and all the songs appeared in the Smart Playlist in iTunes but when I updated the iPod, the songs do not appear in the Smart Playlist there. It is still a blank screen.
I can't understand why Apple would not include the ability to allow the iPod to simply play all it's music in one shot without going through so many hassles.
I guess I am going to have to create one playlist with a couple of thousand songs in it to actually do this.
