My experience is that you need to get the chip up to at least 210° C for about 15-20 seconds in order to get a good bond that doesn't break loose the first time you pick up the laptop.

I made a mask of heavy aluminum foil that is 10 layers thick and the cutout is almost exactly the size of the video chip. Be VERY CAREFUL not to touch the foil, chip or computer once things are hot as the chips WILL move around and you will destroy your logic board!
