I've got both, but I can't do a completely fair comparison since my son has had medical issues.
I believe the common wisdom is that girls are easier when young, harder when older (i.e. teenage) while the reverse is true of boys. I can say with certainty that my children are *very* different, leading me to reluctantly conclude that there is at least some truth in the idea that there are fundamental differences between males and females that no amount of equal/identical parenting can reconcile.
