YO FIDO, Here have a hit of this......

Prozac is not an upper...and the only difference with this is now the drug is labled for use in canines. USing this drug (and other behavior modifying drugs) is not really new in veterinary medicine, just that the majority of usage is off lable, meaning that the drug was not specifically studied in dogs the way it is in people. Getting medications labeled for non human species is often a hassle and most drug companies won't pursue it since there is no money in it (at the moment, no one is even making distemper vaccines for ferrets, and this is something they really do need seeing as how distemper is fatal and incurable in ferrets and easily prevented with the vaccine, but I digress....)

The one that tees me off is the weight loss drug that Pfizer recently produced for dogs. I just can't wait to have people queing up for that. I really hope it is expensive enough that maybe people will decide that increasing exercise and decreasing the amount the feed are finally better options....
