Zoom window?
#2
You can do this in the Keyboard & Mouse Preference pane. (Bear with me). This is from a MacWorld tip.

In the Keyboard & Mouse pane Click on Keyboard Shortcuts. At the bottom click on All Applications. Then click on the + to add a shortcut. In the next window Application: should display All Applications.
In the Menu Title: type Zoom . This must be just as shown with a capital Z, because it has to match exactly the word Zoom that is under the Window menu item in applications.

Then press the keys you want to activate the Zoom function. I used Control-Option-Command-Z as a test.

Then click on Add.

You will have to relaunch any program to have this function available to it, and to show the new command "keys" under Window/Zoom - such as in Safari. Also, you have to pick a command that doesn't conflict with any applications' commands.

To remove, just go back into the Keyboard Shortcuts window, select the Zoom item and press the - (minus) key to delete it. Note, again, that once deleted, it will still work on applications until you quit and then relaunch them.

You could also do this on an application-by-application basis, but that would be a pain to set up each one.

I set up a keyboard shortcut to make Safari's Quit be Option-Command-Q. This way, if I hit Command-Q in Safari all my windows don't close.
