I used to work in computer support on campus. The first few weeks of the Fall semester were always bad because there were scads of new students on campus with new, unpatched computers in their dorm rooms. They would be exchanging files, emails and other stuff with all of their new "friends" as if they had known them all their lifes. They mostly would be computer users, but many for all intents and purposes were functionally computer illiterate. Wide open to the social engineering behind these kind of worms. Once their PC was infested, most had no clue how to even detect they had a problem, let alone cure it. That is why the warnings are going out, it is that season again and this attack is just enough different that it is going to catch a great number of the unwary.
