In any event, he was chipped upon the adoption process at the shelter. So now my friend's contact information is still there. We are considering to re-chip him soon.
You shouldn't have to have him rechipped, and it might actually become more confusing. Can't you just get the contact information changed?! I know it's possible to do it with Louie's Avid chip. I did.
