I say do the database anyway. And the name has a nice ring to it. Here's to more "Pet-O-Files" on the internet! (uh, wait a minute...)

Unfortunately, the chip idea is better than the reality. Kap is correct in that it's not a given that shelters will even scan for them, or be able to do so effectively. I learned that first hand, it's stupid but true. And that the competing chip services each require different scanners is totally idiotic.

Maybe someone should work on a scanner that can read them all (probably need legal agreements from all the co's first...)
