As I said, the pseudo-Irish down-hominess of square drive religion is due to the fact that McFeely's is an Irish-sounding name. It had nothing to do with anyone's ethnicity besides, possibly, the catalog producer's, and for the record, I'm a quarter Irish myself and Guinness is one of my favorite brews.
If you were to click on the link and go through their catalog you'd think there was nothing else but square drive out there; it is very much a "drinking the kool-ade" experience.
I've used square drive screws a few times and never stripped one, but most of my construction efforts are marine projects (in addition to being pretty lame), and having the right size square drive screws in stainless and bronze is very difficult.
Edit: Guinness has two "n"s.
PS: You ignored my question about the triangle drive in the Happy Meals.
