Dual Screen Problem with XP, MBP, Bootcamp

Sounds like the PC is set to a res the Sony doesn't support. Boot without the screen connected, set the PC's screen to the native res of the Sony screen, then reconnect. Otherwise try spanning first, get the screen set correctly and then set it to mirroring.
