Is this a good deal for a Macbook Pro?

That's a good point. When I bought mine, Apple would not adjust the purchase date for my mbp - luckily, their records indicated it had only been purchased a few months prior to when I bought it...but still.

It's not a given that Apple will change the date. You can ask them to & fax them the records (like I did), but it's still up to them to make the determination.
