There are several companies using a hack to forge caller ID numbers. There are two common ones I get . The first one uses a variation of a generic name with: credit, cardmember, services, and are offering to consolidate my credit card debts with a lower interest rate. Good thing I know they are trying to get my credit info to steal my identity. The second is a company offering me an extended warranty on my 9 year old car, and are also trying to get my credit info to steal my identity.
I have tried to string them along to get a real company name or say I just had a personal emergency and can I have a phone number to call them right back. It almost worked once. I got a phone number, but it never answered when I called it.
