changing out the drive is easy peasy.
The hardest part is removing the screws from the drive sled. They are small.
I did the exact thing on my MacBook about a month ago. I went with a larger 5400 rpm drive because like jdc said, it was just as fast as some of the 7200 rpm drives. I maxed out the RAM for less than $100.
You end up with a very snappy laptop.
