[quote Ammo]I know it makes sense from the media's standpoint, but wouldn't it kind of creep you out to learn that they had an obit for you all ready to go?
This is really common. I vaguely remember some John Steinbeck anecdote about when he was asked to proofread his obit by the Times or whomever. I heard the story when I was really young so I am quite uncertain about any details.
A friend of mine worked for the ad agency that handled the Roy Rogers fast food account. She once showed me the full page ad they had ready and waiting to run in tribute on the day Roy died. I think the restaurants went under before he did. The agency, too.
Whoops! I stand corrected. I just Googled and there are still Roy Rogers around. Or they have come back. Or something. Whatever.
