FWIW, the Minutemen are pretty far from punk rock, in terms of sound.
They were very DIY & upbeat. You may know their song Corona as the opening theme to Jackass... #19 on Double Nickels.
Take a listen to #20, very catchy. Taped it off college radio in the 80s, and for years didn't know who it was, only that I liked it a lot.
This Ain't No Picnic (#33) got a bit of MTV airplay on 120 Minutes.
