i thought obama's 1/2hr was great!

If I could vote, I would probably vote for Obama- but it would be in spite of his commercial tonight, not because of it. Regardless of his message, and the glossy production, it was symptomatic of an underlying problem with US elections; money. He has raised enough money to buy a half hour slot on many channels, in an environment where I think few people would disagree that the money could have been better spent. It must have cost an obscene amount of money, adding to the ridiculous amount that has already been spent in this campaign. Finally, the whole thing seemed too self-congratulatory, anticipating victory. I hope he is right, but I cannot believe that this will have swayed many minds in his favor.
