I can relate to JTP. Guy on the street. Not seeking any fame or fortune, but finds himslef pilloried by all the sneak peeking of his records. I find this just as dispicable as any high level governmental abuse of power.
So even though JTP Guy didn't have any material harm done to him by the snooping at his records and the former governor was sent to jail, you would find the two instances to be equally despicable because you can identify with JTP Guy? Not that I"m implying that it was okay to snoop on his files - it certainly was not and there should be consequences for it - but I don't see how the two should be considered anywhere near equivalent.
Maybe you can relate to this, though: you said in another thread that you don't have a problem with the Patriot Act, but it made it possible for people working in the federal government to listen in on and share with others private conversations where military people serving in Iraq were having "phone sex" with people back home. Certainly that must rate at least as high on your despic-o-meter as what happened to JTP Guy. Or was that another abuse of power done by the federal government during Bush's term that you haven't paid much attention to?
