Goodwill score! Solid Oak Table
#9
Hi everyone,

I doubt weight had anything to do with the former owner getting rid of the table. The owner might have moved and didn't want to take it. The table may have been a part of someone's estate and the survivors had no need for it. The former owners may have remodeled and found the old table didn't suit the decor. Regardless, it's a great find! I'm going too have to start looking at goodwill because I need furnishing for my place.

Then again, I've had great luck dumpster diving. In the last few months, I found a set of silverplate from the 1930s in near mint condition. Service for eight. I also found a 52" dining room table with two leafs and pads, two chests of draws (one of which is an antique and in good condition the other recently made and in excellent condition, two antique dining room chairs and much more! The 52" dining room table is in excellent condition. I'd use the table in my place but it's too long for my kitchen and I don't have the space for it in my living room. Grrrrr!

I find it absolutely astonishing what some people will just leave at the curb. Astonishing.

Robert
