President-elect to Travel by Train to Inaugural Weekend
#4
I believe he is flying into Philadelphia.

He wants to retrace the route that Abraham Lincoln took before his own inauguration, from Philadelphia through Baltimore and on to Washington. Of course Lincoln was forced to pass through Baltimore in the middle of the night because of rioting Southern sympathizers--something Obama won't have to emulate.

He will give a speech in Baltimore, I think at the Ravens' stadium. Fort McHenry would have been nice and a historic site and all, but there is only one road in, and traffic would have been unmanageable.

Plans are not yet entirely set.
