Rick Warren to give the invocation at Obama's inauguration

I disagree with Warren on pretty much everything I know about him (which is very little.) Can only imagine what I'll come up with as I learn more...

That said, Obama has said, rather consistently, that he will actively seek and invite all viewpoints on all matters. To that end, I respect his decision although I vehemently disagree with it. I will say that it is nice to respectfully disagree with someone (anyone, not just politicians) for a change!

And honestly, what's Warren going to do? Stand up there and rag on Obama for ten minutes? He'll look like an ass. Obama stands to gain a little respect from people who oppose him. And his supporters who are upset about this won't turn on him. They'll get over it and hopefully do a little soul searching about just how open they are to differing points of view. Obama's not a "you're either with us or against us" type of politician. Good for him.
