Except for the buildings in the background during Milk's speech from the steps of City Hall.... They could have, but didn't, digitally alter the skyline to reflect the buildings of the period. Not really van Sant's style to worry that much about minor details, though. He's more a theme than a detail artist.
I also saw the film at the Castro theatre in SF when i was there last week. It was the perfect venue, and the popcorn there is great!
