You won't be able to watch HDTV, or even edit it on your QS.
In fact if you save your analog video as mpeg2 you won't be able to edit/play it via the QS.
Yes, somebody will wade in and declare that their "non-G5/Intel" Mac can play back HD.
What they don't tell you that it is in a teeny-tiny window on their Mac and it is still jerky and pixelated.
Why buy an HD receiver in the first place?
If I was in your situation I would get a cheap Plextor and some Government coupons and do it that way.
