How to handle this problem with seller? Item was never delivered.

How is the delivery confirmation for media mail worthless? He got it, the USPS confirms it was delivered. If that was the method the package was supposed to be shipped, I don't see how there could be a problem. According to the USPS website the delivery confirmation service is the same across all methods of post. So unless Amazon is going to say that USPS delivery confirmation isn't valid I'm not seeing a problem.
