I use the Finder, too, but make sure all your files have a '.jpg' (or .jpeg, .JPG, .jpe) extension, lest you get razzed by your Windows-using counterparts.
Also, don't volunteer that you used a Mac to burn the disc.
If there's any problem on the receiving end, they'll try to blame you. I burned a DVD for my sister, and through some weird quirk in HER Windows setup all the files appeared with Internet Explorer icons. She blamed me and my Mac Sheep of the Family ways, of course, but then I booted into another account on her machine and the files were all fine.
