At the last Woot Off, we ordered the Dyson Canister Vac DC21. It arrived Friday DOA. The beater bar stops turning after about 10 seconds, requiring that you push the power button again and again.
Per Woot's terms, we contacted the manufacturer, Dyson. They had been flooded with calls that day over the failure of hundreds of Woot vacuums. There were no service centers in our area, so it would require shipping...at our expense. Dyson put the blame back in Woot's corner, saying that all 300 vacuums were working when they shipped to Woot.
So you can't call Woot to talk about it, so we emailed for an RMA and a request for prepaid return shipping label. Their reply was to send an RMA but denied the request for a shipping label.
It's not like we just don't like it. It's not just that our vacuum was defective. Dyson claimed they had received hundreds of calls on Friday regarding the Woot vacuums.
Yes I have read the Woot terms of service but this is about the implied warranty of merchantability. The sold something that clearly does not function for its intended purpose. I let them know that if they did not provide a shipping label, I would dispute the entire charge with my CC company.
