As I have observed working in the media and ethnic/racial classes and seminars I have been a part of, mocking Asian-Americans in general is much more tolerated than other groups. Remember when Shaquille O'Neal made fun of Yao Ming? Now imagine the outrage had someone "Acted and talked Black" that was not African American. Shaq was branded as "A guy just kidding around" while making fun of African Americans is deemed, and rightly so, racially insensitive.
There are stupid things you do with friends, but don't take a picture of it. Assume any of your "friends" are willing to sell you out with camera in hand at any moment for $.
I have fun with racial jokes around here but that is amongst friends. I am not running for public office or famous and dependent on sales of crappy tween music and cheap plastic labeled Hanah Montana crap made in China. Sorry Miley, it's not ok just because you have an Asian friend. The standard for people trying to sell an brand all over the world is different. It comes withe fame, money and paparazzi.
