I am installing the drain and expected to run a bead of plumbers putty underneath the ring you see exposed at the bottom of the basin.
But the instructions call for a hard black rubber washer to go between the ring and the basin as well and it comes with the sink too. Thing is it raises the ring up ever so slightly and I can't see a complete drain happening. The drain I am replacing didn't have one and the thing drained fine. Anyone know what I am talking about? Should I add the rubber washer?
