Speaking of that, can phones be hacked to work on a pre-pay system like Metro PCS? I've currently got 4 lines of unlimited service at $100/mo + tax. So the deal is hard to beat. The incoming coverage is limited nationally but not the outgoing which works for me since all my phones originate and stay in a primary coverage area. So the rate is worth the pain.
Thing is they are like Apple and only provide service for phones bought from them or their dealers. Are they hackable and would it be worth the effort?
In my dreams I would hack 4 iPhones into the Metro system, pump up my service to full usage (about $40/mo extra) all in an effort stick it to AT&T, dropping Nextel completely and saving more than a few bucks.
