There is something that looks kind of like a CUDA button on the logic board between the video out and the USB port next to it on this version/rev of Mini. This is the one with one DIMM socket.
I'm going to try setting up a new account on the machine but I've already tried connecting to the macbook via ethernet and it seems like the macbook can see the mini just fine but the mini can see the macbook but not access it.
If a new account does fix this somehow will my dad / I have to migrate everything of his to the new account or would that be enough of a clue to come back and fix this account?

[Edit] I created a new Admin account and it has all the same issues so I guess that is pointing to a dead/crippled port? Time to shop around for a new wireless router and a wireless USB adapter for the mini!
