Will a 95% furnace preform better than my 25+ year old furnace?
#3
I agree with your first statement. We are basically getting a new furnace w/ ac for about $300-$400 more than what we were quoted in the fall for 91-92% furnaces w/o AC. This is taking account the 30% or up to $1500 tax credit (however that works but this one does qualify for the tax credit on my 2009 tax return).

I will add that the last three years the furnace has had initial problems when we start it up but they have been pretty easy fixes.

That being said... We are on the fence... Wife told me to get it fixed before the heat is out and we are paying the same price "JUST FOR THE FURNACE". To help with the cash flow we did qualify for the 12 months same as cash.

Hmmmm... Will we be more comfortable?
