update on the G4 troubleshooting thread

Thanks for the advice, everyone. If it's not too much trouble 'fil, I may take a look at that .pdf of the manual, since I don't know what I'm doing unless it's spelled out.

What's the reason for the two types of plug receptacles on the back?




Also, for the hell of it, I flipped the red voltage switch from 115 to 230 and when I did I heard a little "click" (other than from the actual movement of the switch). Could that be interpreted as a sign of life?
