The one on the right is a power pass through for a monitor. Many monitors used to come with a cord that would plug into that kind of connection instead of a wall socket and use one less power strip or wall socket. You can still get that kind of cord to use with monitors with changeable power cords. With older PC's. Mac's and workstations the socket might also be switched and turn off power when the PS was shut off. In the case of the G4's it was just passing through whatever the PS was connected to.
