The hummingbirds have arrived!
#11
Surprisingly, in the Portland, Oregon area we have 2 hummers that stay the year around. I clean the feeder and renew the solution every Saturday.

I have a clear plastic cover over it so the rain doesn't dilute the solution.

And, in the winter time I have a 60-watt floodlight that I place near the bottom of the feeder that keeps the solution from freezing - keeps it lukewarm. I have it on a timer so it turns on in the morning around 6 am (much before I wake up), and turns off around 11 am when it's above freezing. It's just outside the back door, so I can turn it on/off manually quite easily, too.
