OK, here is the test results:
The front Right wheel makes a HORRIBLE noise when going straight or turning right, but it's quiet when turning left. It's not the CV joint, it sounds like sheet metal scraping on something. High pitch, and very clear sheet metal sound.
The brakes are holding, the pedal is pulsating. I drove 3 times around the parking lot, and I think the pulsating is getting weaker, but it's hard to tell. I think I could drive it to the mechanic as it is, I don't need a tow truck.
Somehow the rotor(s) got warped, even though they were fine several weeks ago.
