Haven't seen glass containers in a long time.
Back in the days of home delivery (a really long time ago) the delivery man would open the back door, pick up the empties, and put the new bottles on the little shelf which was there for that purpose. There may have been a little door giving access to that shelf but we did not use it with Mother home on delivery days.
Those bottles had a little bulge in the neck where the cream collected and we had to shake the bottle before opening it to mix the cream into the milk. There was no such thing as 1% or 2%, it was just milk.
We'd badger the guy for ice in the summer. If he had a good supply, we'd get a piece.
