Holy sh*t - saw someone not just talking on a cellphone during the evening commute, but...

I like to pull up next to people like that and lay into my horn. Their startled looks and dropped phones are funny.

actually, I dream of taking it a step further....

also writing down notes - on the notepad she had placed on the steering wheel hub. So - left hand holds cellphone to ear, right hand holds notepad to steering wheel/writes down Very Important Information.
She was on the phone to me, asking for section township and range so she put down the phone and look at an aerial of the property she knew nothing about because she "had a client".

Yesterday I was behind a truck that kept veering from one side of the road to the other crossing all of the lines. Thank goodness I was behind him. At a stop sign he went left and I went right and that's when I saw he had a dog on his lap, paws up on the wheel, completely blocking the drivers view, as though the dog was driving.

Not uncommon around here tho' never seen a man doing that. A retired cop who taught traffic schools told me once he gave a ticket to a Beverly Hill (CA) socialite for having her Great Dane sitting in the front seat right next to her.

Wow is this thing great! I use it as a "mini-bar" when the friends and I go out to the bars. I can quickly fix multiple shots of tequila for myself and the friends as we drive from one bar to the next. We also discovered that if you place a pillow on top of it and turn on the cruise control you can catch quick naps on the interstate. If you swerve to the left or right the rumble strips on the road wake you up in plenty of time before you get into trouble. I can now take longer trips without being tired!

Also, i am now dating a midget and she fits nicely on the steering wheel desk which allows us to experiment sexually while driving. This thing is like WD-40 or duct tape, it is a million and one uses!

Not suggesting it's ok or in any way saying people should do it but it certainly is possible for some to be able to handle it from a mental aspect.

I've no scientific evidence to back this up but I'm guessing based on kids exposure to technology, games, etc., it's not going to be nearly as taxing mentally on future drivers as it is on the rest of us currently.

Far more distracting is a solo parent driving with a child in the vehicle. The constant "Mom...mom, look...mom...MOM!" (as an example) is as bad or even worse as most phone conversations while driving.

Just sayin'

I try to look at people talking/texting and such. In some instances I see about 20% NOT USING a cell/gadget. That is, 80% ARE using some gadget.

If a cop can have a full laptop right next to him AND be on the cell (100% of cops are on the phone 100% of the time here), then the logic is sound for everyone else, right?

almost as bad here. I wonder what are they talking about all this time?
