Oh, and Wowzer, I agree. Apple appears to be trying to build for the lowest common denominator. I get confused in iMovie, but I can find my way around Final Cut just fine.

And the really odd thing is that the new iMovie UI was designed by the same guy that originally designed FCP.

Really? I've met him before... a few days after Apple announced FCP 1.0.

Seriously? Yesterday you were attacking people who didn't know Exchange could completely kill a phone, yet you didn't even have much knowledge on the subject yourself. Today you're trying to insult someone else with a retort that "Save As..." is logically the same as using a button labeled "Project Library."

Still mad because you don't know how Exchange works? Look, you were wrong in the other thread, had no knowledge about a subject and still spouted off complete nonsense. I was polite in my responses to you, didn't call you out personally, nor did I follow you to another thread to post personal attacks. Get over it. Did you notice that no one but you disagreed with my comments? Everyone else worked to explain the basics of a subject. With quick clarifications and examples of edge cases where the remote wipe could not happen.

To the OP. I didn't mean for my comments to be taken so literally. I was not aiming to offend or belittle. I actually had a different comment ready but then noticed you posted your own answer before I could respond.

Randy Ubillos, it all started when he was at SuperMac working on the VideoSpigot. That eventually led to what became Adobe Premier, then he went to Macromedia to work on what eventually became Final Cut Pro after Apple bought it.

And if you saw the Keynote when the first new iMovie ('08 I think) came out, Randy gave the demo and was introduced as the person behind this great new way to edit, and he's given the intro demos of each new version of iMovie since then.

Don't forget early versions of Premiere and Aperture.

GGD,
You beat me to it again. Do I get points for mentioning his contribution to Aperture?

I didn't realize we were keeping score.

I didn't mention Aperture because I was more focused on Video editing software that he was involved with.

To be more complete, Reel-Time was the name of the app he worked on at SuperMac that was eventually sold to Adobe and became the basis for Premier.

If you want to start listing other things he worked on, how about "II in a Mac"

Ha! That's negative 2 points for not knowing the rules of the same, but +15 for posting more good info.

Go back and read the thread and you will hopefully notice your recollection of it is not even close to accurate. You're the one that said:

How can people not know how Exchange works? Or other services that allow for remote wipe? The Internet not up and running in their part of the USA? Just kidding…sort of.

And the later admitted you didn't even know the name for the technology you were referring to. You then edited the post to read:

Edit: ActiveSync was the term I was fumbling with until the smart people brought the knowledge in a couple of other posts.

Did you notice that no one but you disagreed with my comments?

I didn't because it's not true. There was at least one other post that pointed out what you were saying wasn't true.

Your last few posts were bending the truth so far I didn't even bother to respond. I just post this to point out just how inaccurate your statements in this thread are, and that I have no problem standing up for myself.

Others in the thread did explain what happened well.

FWIW, I have a fair amount of experience with Exchange servers. The bulk of it was before ActiveSync was added to it, and even today many people still use Exchange without granting the server admin permission to kill their phone.
