All through my 20s I had this feeling that my life would take off in middle age, and it did, starting with getting laid off at Apple, which was devastating at the time. Things got really good after that.
Age 33 is the happiest

Umm, hmmm.
Probably the most FUN, yes. Happiest, no way. If you have a good life, or are lucky, or just keep trying (or maybe some combination) you keep getting happier. YMMV.

Yeah...age 33...I think that's how old I was when I sold off 500 shares of AAPL and used the proceeds to buy up QCOM - which I also promptly sold off about a week or so before they won their lawsuit against Nokia...in hindsight, 33 was not a very good age for me...

Wow, rob. Thirty-three is so young; my sympathies to you and your family on the impending anniversary of his death.
![]() So is 33 some sort of turning point? Someone once told me that we have to renew ourselves, or change our lives in some way, every 7 years... perhaps 33 is when the process begins! Now that I think about it, I was divorced that year, too...

Age 33 sucked SO badly... lost my job, career, house, had to move in with the inlaws.
Age 33 was awesome, spent all my time with my kids and wife, worked outside painting, digging, and just generally 'resetting'... while looking frantically for any and all jobs. In the end, it was pretty much okay. |
