Donald Trump Said Today That He Will Make Apple Manufacture Their Products In The USA
#11
At the end of the article it says how this is another controversial claim by the candidate. What they should call it is another lie; he can't do these things. The soft-pedal "journalism" is why many people think he's actually making sense despite blatant incompetency.

But let's not get political LOL.

Years ago, I'm thinking 2010 or 11, Apple was talking about making some iPhones in the US and the number Tim Cook said was $14 per phone (can't remember if that quoted $14 was total labor costs or an increase in labor cost). Built a factory in Texas, and couldn't find enough people willing to do the job to run a line there. I think it ended up being shifted to refurbishing iPhones and maybe building the Mac Pro.

It was definitely a build it and they won't come...

It's news. Give it a whirl sometime, and see what happens.

If Mr. Trump becomes president and has a supportive Congress, then trade policy could be changed and Apple (and other corporations) could be forced to stop importing products. This is as likely to happen as I am likely to win the next billion dollar lottery. In fact, I am more likely to win the lottery and I've never bought a lottery ticket. However, he could buy up enough AAPL and take it private although not as president.

Thankfully, he doesn't really have nearly enough money to even come close the being able to do that. He might say he does, but that would be just another in a long line of Trump lies.

The number of people who think that the President of the US is a King with Kingly powers is staggering. Including certain Candidates.

Few of them ever honesty say "If Elected I will beg, plead, cajole, pester, nag, and bullyrag Congress into passing a law that..."

Most simply say "If Elected I will..."

Political campaigns. A lair of liars.
