My iPhone 3Gs has dementia, it's also painfully slow. I want to upgrade to something. The iPhone SE sounded perfect, but I was too suspicious of the 1/2 year announcement and am hoping for an update tomorrow.
Last week TheTominatrix finally upgraded her iPhone 3GS to an iPhone SE. No regrets so far.
I don't expect anything to be announced tomorrow that will compete with the iPhone SE's primary strengths of small size and small price. I think the iPhone SE will remain in the primary lineup alongside the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. I think this was planned and why they did not name it the iPhone 6 SE.

I will most likely keep my 6 Plus another year.

I'm hoping beyond hope that killing the headphone jack will prove to be a terrible idea that will actually get reversed. But I doubt it. Apple really never takes a step backwards.
I beg to differ. Recently they've been doing that while claiming to be moving forward.

Not interested in downgrading to an iPhone 7 if the headphone jack is removed. In fact, I hope it is a failure if said jack is removed. There's no strong and compelling reason to take it away. Sure, there's bluetooth, but it's a bag of hurt. What happens if my bluetooth batteries die? What happens if I want to charge my new iPhone and plug in a Lightning headphone dongle? What happens is there's bluetooth interference?
Blah. I'll keep my old iPhone. It works great.

Even if the iPhone 7 has a headphone jack I would probably not upgrade from the 6. My current phone is the perfect size, the battery life is good, and the speed is excellent. The only draw I can see is the improved camera and I can wait to get that.

I have an iPhone 5. I've already decided that I want an iPhone 7.

Isn't part of the reason for removing the headphone jack that it is part of the strategy to make the phone more resistant to water intrusion (since the jack is basically a big hole in the phone)? It seems to me that water resistance is a very desirable feature which I'd gladly trade for the headphone jack. However, until my current iPhone 6 falls in the water I'm not in any hurry to trade it in for a 7.
